LEAN ON ME FOUNDATION (LOMEF) DONATES TO KUMASI CENTRAL PRISON FEMALE SECTION
A USA Ghanaian based NGO, Lean On Me Foundation has donated assorted items of sanitary pads, soaps, bathroom sandals and other items to the Kumasi Central Prison Female section of the prison for the inmates of the prisons to aid the inmates hygienic conditions.
The donation was made at a short ceremony and the items were handed over to the Prisons authority at the Central Prison, Kumasi by the founder and CEO of Lean On Me Foundation, Imam Firdaws Ladan.
Imam Ladan gave the rationale behind the gesture, he says, “these items were to help our female inmates who we were told by a source that some of the inmates do not have access to especially the sanitary pads during their menstrual cycle, and we at LOMEF deemed it appropriate to come to their aide by providing them with some of the sanitary pads”.
Receiving the items, the Deputy PRO at the Kumasi Central Prison, Mr. George Owusu, thanked Lean On Me Foundation and pledge that the items will be put to the intended purpose and further advised more of such gestures from LOMEF and other Non Governmental Organizations and philanthropist organization.
